Guidelines of the agw
The large water associations in North Rhine-Westphalia are committed to solidarity-based, sustainable and holistic water management in the interests of the general public. As non-profit organisations, they are responsible for the self-administration of water management and thus relieve the burden on the state. In order to strengthen their cooperation, to optimise efficiency and effectiveness and to present their work to the outside world in a coordinated manner, they have formed a working group and defined the following guidelines for this:
- The working group represents the interests of the water boards vis-à-vis political bodies and institutions and actively shapes the joint policy of the water boards in North Rhine-Westphalia.
- The working group is the point of contact for politics and industry for all water management issues.
- The working group pools the interests of its members in political, legal, economic and technical matters.
- The working group coordinates the joint tasks of its members.
- The working group informs its members about relevant state, federal and European affairs.
- The working group endeavours to bring the common interests of the associations closer to the members of the NRW state parliament, the Bundestag and the European Parliament.
- The working group informs the public about its work and the work of its members.
